Dietitian Services for Veterans & Their Families
At Australian Veterans Health Services, we know that every veterans health journey is different. The physical demands of service, the challenges of transition, and the lasting effects of military life call for a level of care and understanding that a standard clinic simply can’t offer.
Our Dietitian services are built around veterans and their families. Practical, evidence-based, and delivered with the respect you’ve earned. Whether you’re managing a chronic condition, working toward a healthier weight, dealing with gut health issues, or supporting your mental health through nutrition, we’re here with you every step of the way.
Good health isn’t one-size-fits-all. Every veteran has a different story, different goals, and different challenges. We treat you as a whole person, not just a condition, and build a plan that actually fits your life.
WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH
Chronic Disease Management
Living with a chronic condition can feel overwhelming. Our Dietitian works with you to develop sustainable, evidence-based nutrition strategies to help manage conditions like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and more, so you can get back to living life on your terms.
Weight Management
Whether your goal is weight loss, weight gain, or just finding a healthier balance, we take a long-term, non-judgemental approach. No fad diets. No quick fixes. Just real, practical strategies built around your lifestyle, your goals, and your preferences.
Mental Health Nutrition
What we eat has a real and well-documented impact on how we feel. Our Dietitian supports veterans managing depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions through targeted nutritional strategies that complement your broader mental health care.
Gut Health & Food Intolerances
Digestive discomfort, food intolerances, and gut health issues are more common than people realise, and they can seriously affect your quality of life. We offer thorough, evidence-based assessment and management to help you identify triggers, restore gut health, and enjoy food again.
DVA Bulk Billing
We bulk bill eligible veterans through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), so there’s no out-of-pocket cost for your Dietitian appointments. Our team can walk you through your entitlements and make accessing care as simple as possible.
